About me
I am a silversmith based in the Highlands of Scotland, I have always loved jewellery particularly silver but could rarely find (or afford !) the designs I loved. I finally found a wonderful night class and learnt the basics.
Years of practice and several lessons hard learnt I now have a wee studio where I design and handmake everything, meaning that each piece is unique.
I am lucky enough to live and work in a very beautiful part of the world and the smallest detail can fire my inspiration, I use traditional skills to create classic and contemporary designs.
I do my bit to tread as lightly as possible, using and reusing materials that are recycled where possible, avoiding harsh chemical processes and using recycled or eco silver. I ensure that all of the gemstones I use are ethically sourced.
I am a beekeeper and a lover of wildflowers and these often sneak into my work. I compete for space in the studio with two cats and a dog, who always seem to be on the seat I want.
All work is handmade by me, pieces that need to be hallmarked are sent to the Assay office in Edinburgh to be marked with my own unique mark, my initials in a honeycomb - what else ?!
